My Resume

Experienced content marketer looking for a new adventure.

Here’s what I’ve done.

I’ve been working in the nonprofit sector since 2009, and I strongly believe that content can make the world a better place. I have worked in Marketing & Communications for The Humane Society of the United States where I got the chance to work with The Ad Council on The Shelter Pet Project, helped the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria grow their social media audience, find homes for animals & engage donors with newsletters and fundraising emails, and shaped the content marketing strategy and brand voice for Mightycause. For them, I’ve produced hundreds of hours of webinar content, created an ebook library, and served as managing editor of the company blog.

Senior Community Engagement Manager, Mightycause
(2016 – Present)
At Mightycause, I act as a one-woman marketing department. I am managing editor and chief writer for our blog, where I snag Google snippet by the fistful. I manage our email marketing, maintain and market our content library, host and produce webinars, and bring in leads for our sales team. I also manage a portfolio of eight “giving events,” which are 24-hour online giving marathons that require managing the creation of a custom website, providing onboarding and training for participating nonprofit organizations, and managing day-of activities.

Freelance Blogger & Editor, Center for Discovery
(2019 – 2020)
I wrote content for Center for Discovery’s blog, focusing on eating disorders, mental health, and Health at Every Size. I assisted with keyword research and edited other writers’ work.

Communications & Public Relations Coordinator, Animal Welfare League of Alexandria
(2015 – 2016)
In this position, I managed social media accounts for the shelter (including a Facebook Page with over 22,000 followers), built e-newsletters and e-blasts in Constant Contact, wrote and edited marketing materials, updated and maintained our WordPress site (creating content, working to implement SEO best practices, running Google Analytics), and worked to increase adoptions and elevate the shelter’s status in the community through strategic communications and public outreach. I also served as IT coordinator for the shelter with the city government.

Marketing Communications Coordinator, Companion Animals, Humane Society of the United States
(2012 – 2015)
As Marketing Communications Coordinator, I worked in the Companion Animals department to ensure our programs and campaigns ran efficiently. I coordinated strategic communications efforts to further the organization’s work in the animal welfare field, acted as a liaison with vendors and partner organizations (such as The Ad Council), wrote and edited publications and web content, organized departmental meetings, and provided general administrative support to senior staff. I also worked to address pet care inquiries from HSUS supporters across the country.

Job experience prior to 2012 available upon request.
